Civil Structural Project Manager

The Project Manager is responsible for planning and overseeing the execution of work on assigned projects, including profit and loss responsibility.

Skills / Responsibilities:

  • Conscientious implementation of the Helm Group Safety Policy
  • Establishing the project budget, with feedback from the project team
  • Issuing the necessary subcontracts and purchase orders to “buy the project out.”
  • Pre-construction planning and development of work plans
  • Project scheduling and planning – anticipating needs for contingency plans.
  • Oversight of job surveying
  • Coordination of labor and equipment with the General Field Superintendent
  • On Site equipment management
  • Regular oversight of job cost and production levels in relation to work plan & schedule.
  • Oversight of accounts payable
  • Timely issue of billings for completed work.
  • Timely processing of all documentation required by the engineer, owner, and state agencies.
  • Timely processing of all documentation and reports required by the Helm Group
  • Maintenance of accurate job files
  • Assistance in developing bids.
  • Working to maintain positive client relations.
  • Knowledge of scheduling software (MS Project, Primavera).

  • People skills necessary to interact in a positive way with a project team, engineers, and owners.
  • Analytical problem-solving techniques.

  • A working knowledge of project management tools and techniques such as contract management and scheduling
  • An understanding of job cost accounting and tracking procedures
  • Drive to successfully complete work within budget and schedule constraints.

Location:

Freeport, IL

Requirements:

  • A 4-year degree in engineering or construction management and 2 to 4 years of experience as a Project Engineer.

OR

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in the construction field with 3 to 5 years of supervisory responsibilities.

Salary & Benefits:

Range: $75,000-$100,000
