A safe, stable home changes what’s possible for a family. That’s the idea behind Habitat for Humanity Chicago’s Women Build, and on October 1, two teams of women from Helm helped kick off this year’s effort.
They spent the day building alongside volunteers from across the city at Maple Park Landing, a new townhome development in the West Pullman neighborhood. This is the largest Women Build in Habitat Chicago’s 14-year history. More than 700 women will help build eight homes and raise over $750,000 this fall.
Team leads Stacey Shoff and Amy Cianciarulo were joined by Lauren Lurquin, Haley Dunn, Rachel Loomis, Samantha Kibler, Kelley Condon, LeeAnn Crowdes, Emily Graham, Karina Castanon, Megan Sattelberg, Mary Shumaker, Precious Harrell, Rhonda Burright, Carisa Buckley, Lisa Eallonardo, Katherine Wrobel, Tina Jones, Berenice Vargas, and Athena Moe.
We’re proud to have helped build homes that will mean so much to families in West Pullman. Watch NBC Chicago’s coverage below and learn more about Women Build 2026.
