Helm played a critical role in the successful delivery of the University of Chicago Micro Hospital in Crown Point, Indiana. As the lead mechanical contractor, Helm was responsible for the installation of essential mechanical systems in this new 130,000-square-foot medical facility. The project encompassed a wide range of spaces, including four operating rooms, two CT rooms, one MRI suite, 15,000 square feet of inpatient rooms, and over 80,000 square feet dedicated to office, exam, and outpatient care areas. Helm’s scope included mechanical piping, medical gas piping, and sheet metal work—key infrastructure supporting advanced healthcare operations.
Demonstrating deep expertise and a commitment to quality, Helm delivered comprehensive HVAC and medical systems installations that included seven rooftop units (RTUs), a boiler plant, HEPA and laboratory exhaust systems, and full ductwork and piping integration. Our ability to manage complex mechanical systems in a healthcare setting highlights our strength in precision-driven environments. The successful completion of this project further underscores Helm’s leadership in healthcare construction and our ongoing commitment to supporting cutting-edge medical facilities.
