Helm delivered a fully integrated design-build solution for the new Rosemont Ice Arena, providing both engineering and construction services to accelerate project delivery and streamline coordination. The facility serves as the practice home for the Chicago Wolves and the Mission Girls Hockey Team and includes two new sheets of ice, team locker rooms, office spaces, and a second-floor restaurant and club area.

Helm’s in-house design services included mechanical, ice plant, plumbing, and electrical engineering, performed in collaboration with ARCON, the architect of record. This turnkey approach allowed Helm to optimize system performance, reduce schedule impacts, and deliver a cohesive, high-performance ice facility.

Construction scope included mechanical piping, air distribution, and full ice rink construction. Installed systems featured 10 rooftop units (RTUs), 2 dehumidification rooftop units (DRTUs), kitchen equipment systems, and approximately 14 miles of HDPE piping within the rink floors. Ice systems are supported by a prefabricated ice plant skid manufactured by CIMCO Refrigeration.

Helm Civil also performed site grading for the rinks, further reinforcing Helm’s single-source delivery model. The Rosemont Ice Arena highlights Helm’s ability to deliver complex ice facilities through an integrated design-build approach focused on speed, quality, and long-term performance.
