Position Overview

As the Tool Warehouse Manager, you will oversee our tool warehouse operations to ensure the tools are tracked, organized and maintained to support field operations.  You will also manage all shipping, receiving, and storage of equipment and material for the field operations. This role requires a strong mix of technical proficiency, operational proficiency, and managerial skills.

The ideal candidate will be highly organized, tech savvy, and be familiar with tools used in the construction industry and warehousing systems. This position will be tasked with managing our tool warehouse and yard operations located in Freeport, IL.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the inventory, storage, and distribution of tools and equipment using web-based software systems (Align – Tool Watch)
  • Maintain accurate records through consistent data entry and database management practices
  • Ensure all tools are properly tracked, maintained, and returned in working order
  • Manage warehouse personnel to promote safety, efficiency, and accountability. Three employees currently work in the warehouse.
  • Collaborate with field teams to meet tool and equipment needs promptly and accurately
  • Continuously identify opportunities for operational improvements, applying Lean or Six Sigma principles when appropriate
  • Generate and present reports using Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Buy out of tools to meet the demands of the construction projects and keep proper inventory levels in the warehouse.
  • Work with the Tool Warehouse Manager located in Bedford Park IL to ensure alignment between warehouse inventories, tool buy outs, and database management.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required, college degree (associates or bachelors) is a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with web-based inventory or asset management software; daily use of Align-Tool Watch and Stratus required
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Experience in data entry and managing databases
  • Working knowledge of warehouse operations and warehouse management systems
  • Knowledge of construction tools and equipment is highly preferred
  • Ability to lead with confidence and communicate clearly with diverse teams
  • Candidates with previous experience in the construction industry, warehouse or logistics environments will be given preference

Salary & Benefits

Range: $80,000-$90,000.
