Position Overview

As a Tier 2 IT Support Specialist, you will provide internal support for employees at our corporate office and for remote sites.  Candidates should have a mix of technical and customer service skills, and a passion for technology and helping people.  This role involves supporting PC’s, printers, copiers, VoiP phone systems, and iOS devices.  If you thrive in a dynamic environment where adaptability and teamwork are key, Helm offers the perfect opportunity for you to grow and succeed.

This role is located in our Freeport, IL office and the work hours are 7:30am – 4:30pm, Monday through Friday.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide tier 2 level technical support to employees via phone, chat, email, and in-person
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues
  • Install, configure, and maintain computer systems and applications
  • Document and track support requests and resolutions
  • Assist with IT projects and initiatives as needed
  • Occasional travel to offices and jobsites (personal vehicle required)

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required
  • A bachelor’s degree in an IT related field preferred
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in an IT support specialist role required
  • Service-oriented attitude
  • Ability to manage multiple tickets and time effectively
  • Follow directions and procedures accurately
  • Quick learner of new technologies
  • Proficient with Windows 11 and Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of PC hardware, printers, scanners, peripherals, and mobile devices (iOS, Android)
  • Basic networking knowledge
  • Strong customer service, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Be able to communicate technical information effectively to diverse end-users
  • Be able to work effectively in a team environment
  • Technical certifications (CompTIA Network +, CompTIA A+, etc.) a plus

Salary & Benefits

Range: $55,000-$65,000 annually
