Position Overview

We are seeking a Combination Warehouse/ Class C Driver with knowledge of Welding, Plumbing, and Sheetmetal tools. This individual will be responsible for manually loading/unloading trucks/gang boxes, as well as driving loads of up to 18,000 lbs. in the Chicago metropolitan area (could also range from Appleton, WI-North, Peoria, Illinois-South, South Bend, Indiana-East, Davenport-Iowa-West). Time will be split 50/50 during the winter months and 90/10 (driving) during peak summer months. They must be able to work in a fast-paced industry. This role is located in our Bedford Park, IL tool warehouse.

Key Responsibilities

Ability to manually load/unload trucks.
Pre/Post Trip Inspections.
Ability to manually load/unload construction equipment from gang boxes.
Knowledge of securing long, awkward loads.
Knowledge of Welding, Plumbing, and Sheetmetal tools is beneficial.
Simple shipping and receiving duties including light forklift Duties.
Minimal knowledge of working with Apple tablet is beneficial.
Minor tool repair and maintenance.
Weekly janitorial duties-sweeping and cleaning.
Responsible for delivery of tools/material to job sites.

Requirements

Clean Class C driver’s license up to 26,000 lbs
Ability to drive up to 18,000 lbs using a 14’ stake truck, 26’ box truck, 26’ flatbed/stake truck, and pickup truck with 24’ tow behind trailer required.
Backing skills required.
Knowledge of tools, Chicagoland area, and capability to unload and load heavy items by hand.
Must be ok with driving in the Chicago metropolitan area (could also range from Appleton, WI-North, Peoria, Illinois-South, South Bend, Indiana-East, Davenport-Iowa-West).
Pre-Employment DOT physical and drug test
