Position Overview

Are you ready to launch your career in the construction industry with Helm? As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be in a position of responsibility for accounts payable and cash disbursements.  In addition, this position requires some cross training on other accounting department tasks including payroll.  If you thrive in a dynamic environment where adaptability and teamwork are key, Helm offers the perfect opportunity for you to grow and succeed.  This role is located in our Freeport, IL office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with processing accounts payable vendor invoices into our accounting software.
  • Process Credit Card disbursements on a weekly basis.
  • Review checks that are written for weekly check runs.
  • Prepare and process bank deposits on a daily basis.
  • Take A/P inquiry calls from our vendors.
  • Monitor approvals for A/P invoices are done in a timely manner.
  • Review and reconcile monthly statements from vendors.
  • Cross training to assist with payroll data entry.
  • Certified payroll reporting.
  • Have a working knowledge of Microsoft office products, primarily Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Be organized and have strong time management skills
  • Be able to interact with a variety of personalities of vendors, customers, and employees
  • Be able to thrive in a team environment and focus on customer satisfaction

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required
  • College degree preferred, but not necessary
  • 2-5 years accounting experience

Salary & Benefits

Range: $45,000 – $65,000
