Over the years Helm has placed many hundreds of thousands of tons of both Hot and Warm Mix Asphalt on various segments of US 20 in Northwest Illinois. Recently, we earned IDOT Contractor of the Year for Hot Mix Asphalt on a stretch of US 20 near Galena.
It’s one thing to say you’re good. It’s another thing to prove it – and, in the construction business, the proof is in the projects. Helm recently completed a taxiway rehabilitation project at the Whiteside County Airport. The project consisted of removing and replacing the existing asphalt surface to a depth of 4-inches according to IDOT Division of Aeronautics specifications.

Helm recently completed a 9-mile portion of I-88 from Illinois Route 78 to Sand Road which included full depth concrete patching along with polymer Hot Mix Asphalt binder and surface courses. Officially designated an Interstate in the late 1980s, the roadway has undergone a number of improvements over the years.
Helm performed full depth concrete patching, underdrain installation, and removal and replacement of the existing roadway surface to a depth of 3-inch on a 10 mile portion of IL 26 from Polo to Dixon.
