Through a combination of strategic quarry locations, efficient use of production equipment, well trained crews, and an award winning quality control and safety programs, Conmat is a leader in the Illinois aggregate producers community.
Approximately 50% of Conmat's sales revolve around meeting Civil Constructors aggregate needs for asphalt, road base, and structural fill.
The remainder of sales is to outside contractors, ready mix producers, road maintenance departments, and agricultural users throughout Northwest Illinois.
Efficient Production in Diverse Locations
With 16 quarries in 3 counties and wide array of production equipment, Conmat has the ability to produce a full spectrum of limestone products in locations throughout the region. Conmat produces over one million tons of limestone aggregates each year using 3 mobile crushing, screening, and washing spreads to efficiently produce the desired products where they are needed. We also offer custom crushing service to customers.

Combining a state certified, state-of-the-art Quality Control Lab with trained, certified technicians, our quality control department is set up to perform the lab and field testing needed to ensure the quality of our products as they are produced and as they are put to use. Our commitment to delivering the best quality products using the latest technologies has earned us the Quality Control/Quality Assurance Contractor of the Year from the Illinois Department of Transportation.
Safety
As a part of the Helm Group's commitment to safety, Conmat follows a proactive safety program. By focusing on education and training Conmat has achieved industry leading safety results and has received recognition by the Illinois Department of Mines and Minerals for the lowest frequency rate for Safety in Illinois. Despite being in an inherently dangerous industry, Conmat has worked 3 out of the last 4 years without an OSHA/MSHA recordable accident, and has not had a lost time accident in over 4 years.
