Press Release - December 2008

Civil Constructors of Freeport, IL was named 2008 Contractor of the Year in two categories by the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) for its extensive work on the Abraham Lincoln Memorial Bridge near LaSalle, IL. The $38 million bridge rehabilitation project began in Feb. 2007 and was completed in Oct. 2008. The IDOT awards recognized the company's deck replacement on the bridge and it's traffic control during the process of deck and lighting replacement. The company's success was particularly impressive because of the tremendous scope of the project. The Abraham Lincoln Memorial Bridge (which is over 7,000 feet long) is the longest bridge in the state. Civil's work on this structure has also earned them national recognition. Road and Bridge's Magazine also recognized the Abraham Lincoln Memorial Bridge in their Top 10 Bridges of 2008

Press Release - December 2002
Civil Constructors was recently awarded New Bridge Construction of the Year for 2002 by the Illinois Department of Transportation. The project being recognized is the State Street Bridge over the Kishwaukee River in Belvidere, IL. Personnel key to this project's success were Project Manager Jeff Boldt and Project Foremen Russ Thruman, Fritz Thruman and Doug Diddens. This is the second consecutive year Civil has been recognized for New Bridge Construction of the Year in this statewide competition.

Press Release - December 2002
Civil Constructors of Illinois was recently named the recipient of the 2002 American General Contractors (AGC) of Illinois Safety Award. This award recognizes Civil's outstanding safety record in 2002 in the 200,000+ man hour per year category. Civil also received an award for Most Improved Safety Record for their improvement in safety performance from the 2001 results.

Press Release - December, 2001
The Mississippi Valley Developers (MVD) and American General Contractors (AGC) recognized Civil as leaders in partnering. They were presented the Mississippi Valley Partnering Award for their partnering efforts with the Rock Island Corps of Engineers for their efforts on the Government Bridge Project. This competition encompassed various construction projects from several states located in the Mississippi Valley.
